A Javanese Keris (Kris), Indonesia, 19th Century
A traditional Javanese keris (kris) with wavy blade (luk), the blade measuring approximately 32 cm, hand-forged in layered iron and steel with a clearly visible pamor pattern. The blade showing natural age patination and forging irregularities consistent with traditional manufacture. The blade fitted with a carved wooden hilt of characteristic Javanese form, complete with a wooden warangka sheath with broad crosspiece and elliptical scabbard, the wood with darkened patina and wear commensurate with age.
Overall condition consistent with age and use; no evidence of modern polishing or restoration.
